Manchester United have been very quiet on the transfer front this summer, with just two main signings, plus Lee Grant, joining their ranks. Fred and Diogo Dalot joined from Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto respectively, but it\u2019s been quiet.<\/p>\n

United are always on the lookout though for talent and they\u2019re expected to sign a defender in the coming weeks. They might also sign a left back as well. Here are seven players who could become Red Devils by the end of the transfer window in a few weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

Gareth Bale<\/h2>\n

There are very few clubs in the world of football that could afford to take Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, but Manchester United are one of them. Bale to Manchester United has long been suggested, but it\u2019s never happened and it\u2019s unlikely to now, considering that Real Madrid sanctioned the departure of Ronaldo earlier this summer. Bale will stay in La Liga, but United are the most likely team to sign him if they do choose to sell.<\/p>\n

Danny Rose<\/h2>\n

Danny Rose\u2019s Spurs future has been in doubt ever since former Tottenham teammate Kyle Walker upped sticks and moved to Manchester City last summer. Rose hinted at a departure while he was recovering from injury and those rumours haven\u2019t really gone away. He\u2019s been stuck behind Ben Davies in the pecking order at Spurs, but Jose Mourinho would likely see him as an improvement on both Luke Shaw and Ashley Young. United are crying out for a left back and Rose could be the man they\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n

Toby Alderweireld<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s been a degree of inevitability over Toby Alderweireld\u2019s departure for some time and it appears much more likely that he\u2019ll go than Rose. He was frozen out of Spurs\u2019 matchday squad for a large part of the second half of the season, despite being fit to play. He\u2019s one of the Premier League\u2019s best defenders and will sign for a bigger club sooner rather than later. United will have to sell one of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones or Marcos Rojo to land their man though.<\/p>\n

Willian<\/h2>\n

Barcelona have made three bids for Willian, all rejected so far, but Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in the Brazilian winger too. Willian worked with Jose Mourinho while the duo were at Stamford Bridge together and he was the only player who impressed during that troublesome spell after they won the title. Mourinho described him as a warrior and that\u2019s exactly the type of player he goes for. It would, however, cast doubts over the future of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.<\/p>\n

Harry Maguire<\/h2>\n

United are in for a new centre back and after his performances in Russia this summer, Harry Maguire is one of the hottest commodities in the position. It\u2019s either him or Alderweireld though, not both. The same applies to him as the Belgian, with United having to sell one of their current cohort in order to justify signing the England centre back. The fee will also be sizeable after his increased profile following this summer\u2019s tournament in Russia.<\/p>\n

Alex Sandro<\/h2>\n

The Brazilian left back is another that United have had their eye on for a while and for a large part of this summer, it looked as if they\u2019d missed out on him, with Paris Saint Germain stealing an advantage. However, the Parisian side have cooled their interest in the Juventus man and United could profit as a result. He\u2019s likely to cost in excess of \u00a340 million, which might put them off, but they are looking to strengthen in his position.<\/p>\n

Sergej Milinkovic Savic<\/h2>\n

The Lazio midfielder was expected to be one of the breakout stars in Russia, but didn\u2019t quite fulfil the expectations that many had for him. However, that hasn\u2019t deterred some of Europe\u2019s biggest clubs and his price tag has rocketed to well over \u00a3100 million. Manchester United will likely be able to afford him, but they\u2019ll be up against some of Europe\u2019s super clubs, including Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain.<\/p>\n
