Italy host World Champions Germany in Milan this evening hoping to take revenge for their elimination from Euro 2016 after a penalty shootout.

Italy defeated Liechtenstein 4-0 on Saturday night, whilst Germany thumped minnows San Marino 8-0 on the same day. Thomas Muller later came out and questioned the validity of such a match, citing the risk of injury as a way of ensuring that they’re kept to a minimum in the future.

Team News

17-year old Gianluigi Donnarumma is expected to start in goal in place of legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon tonight, whilst Marco Verratti and Federichi Bernardeschi should also feature. Misfiring West Ham striker Simone Zaza is also expected to play a part in tonight’s game. He rose to fame in the penalty shootout between the two sides, when he blazed his spot kick over the bar.

Germany will be without Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Julian Draxler and Andre Schurrle for the trip to Milan.
