Italy vs England

Yet another clash between these two European giants, the second in the year following their meeting at the Euro 2020 final. But Italy and England can hardly be considered among the best in the world given their recent shortcomings. Gli Azzurri have failed to reach the World Cup, lost 3-0 in Finalissima and won just once in their four Nations League games, with England yet to register a win in the competition.

A draw has been the most common outcome in this fixture of late – the last four matches have been all-square after 90 minutes, three of which have been 1-1. Italy have kept only two clean sheets in their last 11, and although Gareth Southgate’s side are yet to net in open play in the Nations League, you wouldn’t bet against their star-studded attack. England have also looked ropey at the back, with the 4-0 defeat at home against Hungary a brutally obvious example of that. Neither nation appear remotely close to the teams that locked horns in the Euro final, with pride the only apparent thing at stake making this game interesting.

Tie with goals – 14/5

Spain vs Switzerland

Spain have had a turbulent time over the last couple of years, but they have appeared somewhere close to their best in recent matches. They look like the Spain of old, forcing teams into submission through prolonged periods of possession. In their last outing, a 2-0 win over Czech Republic, Luis Enrique’s side registered 75% possession.

When you also consider Switzerland’s lack of attacking prowess, it’s difficult to look beyond a comfortable Spain win. The visitors were 1-0 victors in their last game against Portugal, but they were lucky to escape with a clean sheet after being peppered with 20 shots on their goal. They are the lowest scorers in Group 2, and they don’t look to have enough to really test this Spain team that is seemingly going through the gears.

Spain win to zero – 20/21

Denmark vs France

You just can’t bet against France, can you? Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann, Christopher Nkunku – the list really does go on and on. Odds of 1/1 on the World Champions is fantastic, regardless of what form they’re in and who their opposition is. Granted, they have had a torrid Nations League campaign, but they will surely be fielding a full strength side as they look to build momentum ahead of the World Cup.

Denmark have been mightily impressive in the last 18 months and were 2-1 winners the last time these nations met. However, there isn’t a country on the planet that can compete with Les Bleus on their day. If France turn up and turn the intensity on, there should be no doubts over who is taking the three points.

France win – 1/1
