Match Preview: Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are locked in a fierce battle for top honours this season. However, with Bayer Leverkusen snatching the crown away from the visitors to the Spanish capital, the race is tighter than ever.

Despite Bayern’s recent resurgence in the Bundesliga, a setback against Stuttgart has thrown the fight wide open. Their defensive struggles persist, compounded by a worrying injury crisis. Bayern’s away form has been particularly concerning, with no clean sheets since December and frequent multiple-goal concessions.

Adding to their woes, they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet against Real Madrid in 16 games, with no victories in nine attempts against manager Ancelotti. It’s a challenging road ahead for the Bavarians.

Madrid secured their 36th domestic title, equalling a joint record with Juventus in Europe’s top five leagues, thanks to Girona’s help. They overcame Barcelona 4-2 following Carlo Ancelotti’s squad’s 3-0 thrashing of Cádiz. Ancelotti rotated his lineup, with Brahim Díaz and Joselu adding to Jude Bellingham’s goal.

Key players like Vinícius, Rodrygo, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Antonio Rüdiger were benched ahead of a crucial second leg. Vinícius, who scored twice last week, has been involved in 31 Champions League goals since Madrid’s victorious 2021-22 campaign, more than any other player.

You just got Kaned

Although it’s been a disappointing season for Harry Kane, with silverware still alluding him, he’s been pulling more than his weight. He’s 5.90 to open up the scoring here and get Bayern back on level terms.

Stale

There is so much riding on this one, and the first game was certainly cagey. This match could well be even more tense. Under 1.5 goals is priced at 4.75 and you could see this one being a low scoring game as both sides ensure they don’t give easy chances away.

Fifteen?

As Madrid bid to win a famous fifteenth Champions League trophy, can they go all the way? They are 2.38 to win this and go on to lift a famous fifteenth (yep, fifteenth!) title.
