Charlton vs Leyton Orient Preview
The League One semi-finals were certainly tense affairs, with Orient requiring a penalty shootout to finally see off Stockport.
Charlton had to dig deep in order to get past a stubborn Wycombe side, eventually securing a 1-0 aggregate win thanks to Matt Godden’s 81st-minute strike in the second leg at The Valley.
It was a huge victory for Nathan Jones’ clearly talented side, who finished fourth in the table after winning four of their last five fixtures in the regular season.
Orient enjoyed an even better end to the campaign, tallying five consecutive victories to secure a play-off spot at the expense of Reading.
And the dramatic win over Stockport should have given the players a huge confidence boost for their trip to Wembley, although recent results against Charlton have gone against them.
The Addicks won both matches in the regular season, the most recent a 2-1 away success on March 1.
However, Orient did at least beat Charlton 2-0 at The Valley in the second round of the Football League Trophy, although that fixture was played way back in December.
But it remains a hard clash to call and perhaps the most decisive factor on the day will be the form of each club’s main goal threat.
Orient’s Charlie Kelman is League One’s leading scorer with 23 goals, while Godden is now up to joint-second in the standings after his strike against Wycombe.
The forwards could hold the key to success for their respective teams.

Charlton vs Leyton Orient Betting Tips
Matt Godden to score anytime @ 2.75
As previously mentioned, Godden has such a key role to play in this play-off final. If he leads the line in the manner which he has for much of the season, a place in the Championship beckons for Charlton. We are backing Godden to take his goal tally to at least 20.
Charlie Kelman to score anytime @ 3.00
But we also think Kelman will have a major say in the fixture. The Orient ace scored in the Football League Trophy victory at the Valley and netted a brace in the 2-2 draw with Stockport in the semi-final first leg.
To be promoted – Charlton @ 1.62
On paper, this is an incredibly hard game to call, but we are leaning towards Charlton, as they displayed a level of maturity in the two legs against Wycombe that may very well see them over the line.
