Bayern Munich’s shock 4-2 defeat against in-form Bochum has left the door slightly ajar for Dortmund to join the title race. The gap between the German giants was reduced to just six points at the weekend, with the two set to meet on match-day 31 in a game with potentially huge ramifications.

There is a similar situation over in Spain, where a Real Madrid draw against Villarreal allowed the trailing Sevilla to close the deficit at the summit of La Liga to four points with 14 games to play. The two are scheduled to meet in Seville towards the end of April, but with seven games to be played before the clash, things could look very different come match-day 32.

Whilst France’s elite have continued their dominance at the peak of Ligue 1, things are still nail-bitingly close towards the bottom. There is also a battle for Champions League football ensuing, with Marseille, Nice and Strasbourg all within touching distance of automatic qualification.

The fight for the Serie A title might be the most exciting across Europe’s top five leagues. Just a two point gap separates front-runners AC Milan from third place Napoli, with Inter trailing their neighbours by a single point with a game in hand. Although Juventus are currently trailing the league leaders by nine points, the acquisition of Dusan Vlahovic could give the Old Lady an outside chance of rising up the ranks.

This Week’s European Football Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Lens vs Lyon: Lyon win – 27/20

Lens have beaten Lyon just once in the league since 2008, with the visitors winning two of the three meetings since the hosts returned to the top flight. Peter Bosz’ side have lost only once in the last 10, and only PSG have picked up more points in the last five games. Moussa Dembele looks back to his best, finding the net in each of Lyon’s previous four wins, and the travelling side seem to have the star-power to pick up the points.

Fiorentina vs Atalanta: Draw – 9/4

Games don’t come more even than this. In the last five league meetings between these sides, Fiorentina have won twice, Atalanta have won twice, and one has ended all square. I Viola will face the rest of the season without Vlahovic, but Atalanta aren’t in the greatest form having not won in five.

Espanyol vs Sevilla: Sevilla win – 21/20

Espanyol are without a win in six as they host a strong Sevilla outfit this weekend. The visitors have not lost a league match in 10 games, and Raul de Tomas is in fine form having scored four in his last five. The league’s best defence will be favourites to pick up their sixth win in seven against Espanyol.

Hertha Berlin vs RB Leipzig: RB Leipzig win – 8/15

Only one team has picked up more points than Leipzig in the last five games, whilst only one team has won fewer than Hertha Berlin. The Red Bull side are favourites to take the fourth and final Champions League spot, and a win this weekend would go a long way in securing it.
