Premier League Darts: Finals Night Preview

Semi-finals:

Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price

Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall

It was a thoroughly enjoyable Premier League campaign ahead of Finals Night, with world champion Littler breaking a plethora of records on his way to top spot.

The teenage sensation finished with six nightly wins and 45 points on the board, 11 more than rival Humphries in second.

Amazingly, Littler has recorded 169 180s thus far, averaging 4.57 per game – which is quite frankly ridiculous given all previous encounters have been best of 11 legs.

Stopping him in London will be a very tough task, though Price has shown throughout the campaign that he can produce world-class darts for fun.

The Welshman won three nights – the same number as Humphries – and hit two of the five 9 Darts Finishes we have seen so far.

Perhaps the surprise name in the semis is Aspinall, who rallied towards the end of the league phase to knock serial winner Michael van Gerwen back down to fifth.

The former World Matchplay winner will fancy his chances against the brilliant Humphries, though he will have to up his tournament average of 95.77 – which is actually the lowest of all eight players who took part.

Littler is averaging 102.81, with Humphries just behind on 99.93. So the numbers suggest an all-Luke finale, but never rule out a surprise on Finals Night!

Littler is priced at 1.80 to lift the trophy, followed by Humphries (3.00), Price (7.00) and Aspinall (11.00).

Premier League Darts: Finals Night Betting Tips

Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price – Over 12.5 180s in the match @ 2.10

Matches between Littler and Price are usually close, with the Welshman one of the few players to get under the skin of the world champ. Given the semis are the best of 19 legs, we could be in for a long and tense match, one which provides the platform for plenty of maximums. Littler hits them for fun and if Price is in the mood, he regularly fills up the T20 bed.

Luke Humphries vs Nathan Aspinall – Over 17.5 legs in the match @ 2.83

While the odds suggest a comfortable victory for Humphries, Aspinall is a real fighter and has the quality to take this match deep. A 10-8 victory for one of these English darting experts? We can certainly see that happening!
